  1. 2:03Turn the camera on. Here we go. Bada bing, bada boom. >> So, in the first one that we got, >> sorry, hold on. Are we on now? >> Yeah. Okay. In the first one that we got, there were two rows for Bin Stiff, but I think that was just an error. >> Yeah, that was submitted twice. So, >> that's fine. >> Right. >> Um, so I want to talk about the Hudson M. >> The Hudson M. Okay. So, let's let's for the people out there in TV labs, let's talk. First of all, we're here to give out >> Oh, yeah. Sorry. Yeah. This is the finance committee and >> finance committee >> is Volo on Mars, >> right? The two of us here. Um, and we had to give out did we have $30,000? We had 1, two, three, 13, two, three, four, five, six, 13 applicants. One right under the wire at rate 57 and um I think all but one of them have requested $5,000. So yeah, the foundation was 100. Yeah. And somebody
  2. 3:08requested 10,000. Yeah. Oh, fine. So, anyway, um all right. So, let's start this meeting and um Margaret, what would you like to say? >> So, I'd like to before we start talking about monies, let's can we go through the actual events? >> Okay. >> And so, the one I want to ask about is the Hudson M. >> Should we mention all the events? Should we go through a list of all? >> Well, the first one is Spenc. We've had that one before. >> Okay. >> We all know what that one is, >> right? The second one on the page is the Hudson M. >> Right. >> Um last year this event occurred late afternoon into early evening. Um it it closes roads all the way from the hospital down to the riverfront. There was a lot of push back from the restaurants and businesses on M Street because essentially from like mid to late afternoon through the dinner hour, nobody could get down to Warren Street and because of the extent of the street closings, it was very
  3. 4:10difficult to even navigate the city. They have been asked to move their time and they're not willing to move the time. To my knowledge, as of earlier this week, they did not yet have a mass gathering permit. Oh, >> and the businesses and restaurants on M Street have been very vocal about the damage that this did to their business last year. >> So, I think that this one we really need to um you know have it be contingent on them moving their time to the morning >> or could they move to Union Street, another street? >> Well, that has been suggested and they don't want to do Union because Warren Street is the iconic street of Hudson. I I suggest Union Street. Um, >> Columbia, >> sorry. >> Or Colombia, right? Either or. >> Yeah. Um, so I I think that this one we should put a hold on until we find out whether they're going to be willing to consider a a different um time and whether or not they're going to get a uh mask done.
  4. 5:14>> What kind of day is it? The day >> It's Saturday. >> A Saturday. >> It's a Saturday in the middle of the summer. Um the event date is July 11th. >> Yeah. >> And um last year I was unaware of it. I went out um before it started. And coming back it's much more disruptive than the um flag day because you can't cut across on ace. You can't cut across on seven at the top of the park. Um I tried going further up. I ended up having to go up onto worse and come back around and like it it was it took me about 20 minutes to get up. I got the phone and it was just because it shuts everything down from pretty much the hospital all the way to the river. Um it's very difficult to navigate and and people were like the restaurants were empty because nobody could even get into town to to do anything. So I think since the spirit of this thing is to promote Hudson and tourism and so forth. Um
  5. 6:18that's part of it. Uh I think we have to listen to the business community on this. >> Yeah. I mean they wouldn't consider a Sunday maybe or another day of the week cuz Sundays. Um I have not been in meetings with them but what what I have been what I have heard is that they are not willing to change the time. >> Let me just look at the let me look at July here. So I want to make sure I'm speaking correctly. >> July uh 11th is Yeah. I mean they could easily do it at like 9 or 10 in the morning. And the other thing about it is that it's done in waves. Um, which is how one mile runs are done. So it goes on for about two hours and there's time involved in shutting down the streets ahead of time and time involved at the end. So I I think that one needs uh to be looked at. >> Well, also if they don't have a mask gathering permit at this point uh that >> as of earlier this week they do not.
  6. 7:23>> We have to consider that as well. >> Yeah. >> When giving out these >> Mhm. >> Yeah. I think we need to check with the mayor's office to see what the status is. >> Okay. All right. >> Is the next one. I didn't know any questions on that one. We've had them before. Um at Hudson, we've we've done that before. The next one I had questions about was happen because this is not really an event. This is a uh kind of an advertising thing, notification things. I I don't think this qualifies as an event. It's outreach, distribution, etc. You know, one location where all of the events during the summer are there. You know, I I don't weigh these endeavors meeting criteria for a grant. Yeah, I don't get this. I understand.
  7. 8:29>> Um I think we've had the family reunion before as far as I remember. >> Um Open Studios. Um we just uh heard from David on that one. Um he is going to check on the ADA piece with Tiffany Marlin. >> Right. Right. And one possibility here is if the um if the event was split into two sections where there's the ADA compliant portion of it and there's these studios that are not and then we could potentially uh consider giving a grant to the ADA compliant version. That's an option that he's going to look at. Uh Hudson area Library. I don't know that we've done anything with them before, but that that seemed like a um thing that was within our perview. >> Um day we had before
  8. 9:32doing our walking tour. >> They're doing a walking tour. Yeah. Okay. Uh live day who be is related to Junth. Um, helped with that before. Uh, scoop club. That's the one that 10,000 for water. >> No, it's only five. >> H, >> it's almost five. Chief, >> I can't hear you. >> I'm I'm looking at what's in right now. >> Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm reading the wrong column here, but yes, you're correct. I pardon. I was looking at what other funding they have received. Um B is Junth and Warfront Wednesdays. Um the jazz festival for Hudson Hall um film festival that we've had before I think. So I didn't really have questions
  9. 10:35about the others. So now it's really just a question of how do we want to divvy up the monies? Should we compare what we did last year? >> Okay. I don't understand. >> It's a good idea. Last year was shown at the same time last year. You're lucky. So the total requests added up that
  10. 11:40column is 130,000. >> Well, when did we do this? Did we do it in April last year? >> Yeah. >> Sorry. I should I should pull this up. Maybe we did it March. Yeah. Special Sorry. It was March. Sorry. special
  11. 12:55need. Okay. So, what we did last year is Hudson Hall 5,000, Flag Day, 5,000 and C fun 3,000 >> Sopa. >> We don't have a Sopa this year. >> Hudson Festival Orchestra, which I did not see. 200 waterfront Wednesday 3,000 family reunion 1,000 >> um film festival 1500 >> the donations were like 850 >> fast 800 >> yeah that's what they asked for a th000 this year Hudson I a00 this year bindle 200 who >> data d i a t.
  12. 13:58>> Yeah, we don't have that issue. That's not here this year. 1,000 and then out Hudson 3,000. Okay. So, let me say that again. I don't think maybe is the the Latinx the Latinx parade. >> Oh, we don't have any musicians. But >> wasn't that last minute last year? Remember? >> Yes. We allowed them late. >> They were late or something. Yes, that's correct. >> That's not in here. I don't see it. Right. >> I don't see that here. So, maybe not. All right. All right. So, insert a column here so that I can do
  13. 15:02comparable numbers. So, should we compare with like to like? >> Yeah, I think that's probably a good idea. >> All right. So, we have Hudson Hall. Last year, they're requesting the same jazz festival as they did last year. Last year, we gave them $5,000. >> Same with flag day. I'm trying to start a column here and I can't stop. >> Okay. >> Can you just tell me uh um from each one what we had last year so that I can add the let's start with Hudson Paul 5,000. Okay. Okay.
  14. 16:15>> All right. Flag tag 5,000 kind of fun fact. 5 days. >> Excuse me. >> 5 days. I see. I see. >> That was 5,000. >> 5,000. Good question. >> Yeah. >> And >> we don't have this year. >> They don't they're not here this year. >> Festival. Nope. >> We don't know. Waterfront Wednesday last year 2000 >> that's under smooth this year. >> There we go. 3,000 >> family
  15. 17:221,000. >> How many was that? I can't hear you. >> That was 1,000. >> Yes. 1,000 last year. >> There it is. 25. Um, film festival and the last row last year was 1500. Fasting 800. What's I no longer exist. on the spreadsheet. Uh, Benzel Stiff
  16. 18:282000 two. Yes. Diana, it's not here. I'm seeing out Hudson 30,000. Did we give any money to Hudson Mile last year? >> No, they last year was our first year, >> but there was a >> there was a resolution. Hold on. >> Anything? >> Yes. >> Weird. >> There was something that happened with that. >> The chief came. because we had extra funds last year.
  17. 19:57Remember, we gave Hold on. They gave me 700 last year. That's how much we have left over. You hear that, Margaret? >> Yeah. >> It didn't happen until uh August. Okay. OB
  18. 21:20is that's it's basically um uh Gent. >> Oh, that's that's right. Wait, but Sankova is Operation Unite. They did not apply. >> Not sure what they were. Right. >> Oh, that's right. Yes. Of the the library. Yes. I'm trying to put in a form paper and nothing's working. All right. So, what do we want to do
  19. 23:49here? >> All right. Well, um, so I'm trying to figure out if we were to give the organizations who asked this year the same as last year. I I Yeah, I would increase though the fast money. >> Fast name, right? >> I would give that $20. Right. Exactly. Fine. Right. Um, >> who would be okay fine? >> Yeah. Who we be? I think we should provide funding to >> They weren't they were not in >> they were in last year. >> Okay. >> But about a couple of years ago when we had the first year of Junth. >> Yes. >> I think we gave them um I can't remember it might have been 30,000. Yeah, >> remember we had the discussion of trying to divide the money equally across the brides, >> but I think that one should definitely >> fair enough. This formula is not working.
  20. 25:32>> You know, I have a hard time, too. It's because it's in this numbers thing. That's why. >> Yeah, it's not it's not really >> not working properly at all. >> All right. Hold on. Let's get this. >> Okay. So, we're going to uh um will B800 what'll be a thousand. >> Oh, yeah. Processing number. >> All right. So, let's go through the list. So, Engle Stiff 2025 was 2000. >> 2026 2000. >> Yep. >> Right. Fine. Next one on is this is this Hudson mile. I think that's a >> we need to put that to Yeah. Bas,000. >> Bas was was 800 now to 1,000. >> Okay.
  21. 26:34>> Right. Great. Out Hudson was 3,000. >> 300. Keep it at that. >> Keep it at that. Mhm. um happen. >> That's new. I don't think so. I no ex I I don't I have no idea what they just want to have a vet directory platform design all >> I'm going to recuse myself. >> Yes, you should. >> Yes, I should because I know someone Yeah. Okay. Um Fair enough. Um, what's next after happen? >> I'm just I'm just adding this on my calculator because this stupid thing uh after happen is um >> family reunion.
  22. 27:40>> That was keep >> it. >> Okay. >> Uh open studios to be determined. Open studio is TBD >> area library is new. So I think maybe a thousand,000 is I think renewable event. Fine. They asked for 2500. >> Uh day five day. We gave him five. >> We keep that at five. Um who be is new? We could maybe do a thousand. >> Fine. >> Uh, we00,000 still. Uh, >> Paul only gave 5,000 last year.
  23. 28:42>> 5,000. 5,000 film festivals 1,500 >> 1500 >> 1500. So where are we at? If we was to do all >> I'm at 235. >> Say again. >> I'm at 235. >> Oh, >> if I put it in correct. >> 226. >> Mhm. If I did it correctly. >> 235. Wait, say it again. >> Yes. 23,500 is what I have. >> 23,500. >> Mhm. If I put the numbers in correctly into my calculator, that might be right. >> Am I right, Linda? Linda says I'm right, so I'm right. was your call. >> So, I think what we should do with the
  24. 29:44ones that were pending, uh, we leave it at that for now and then when we get more information about open studios. Um, I didn't put anything. How much did we decide to give the library? 1,00 >> 1,00 >> Yeah. >> 535. >> Oh, we have a question. >> Yeah. Ronald. >> Hello. Hello. from the other day, but we fixed it. >> Hello. Hi. Uh I I don't know if I could unmute myself or if you had to unmute me.
  25. 30:45>> You can hear me now. >> Okay. I don't I I I don't have a question. I I have a sort of question, but you can wait till you're finished making your decisions and I'll ask it then. >> No, I think he can ask it now. I think we're kind of >> what we so what we've done is we've looked at what we gave out last year and plugged those numbers in. There are a couple of new things that are sort of pending. One is Hudson Mile and the other is Open Studios. Open Studios had uh uh ADA compliance issues. So we need to hear from uh Tiffany Allen on that one. Um and we don't know the status of the Hudson mile with regard to their um permit, their mass gathering permit. So at the moment we using what was done last year and then with a couple of new ones that we uh put money in for um were at 235. And I think where we are right now is that we'll leave it at that for
  26. 31:49now until we hear back on a couple of the pending ones and then if there's still money's left over, we'll see where we can allocate it elsewhere if there's still some monies. So that's where we are. So go ahead. >> Okay. The event application uh the application for an event permit uh officially stipulates that these applications have to be submitted 120 days in advance of the event although there is also a proviso for waving that requirement and from my experience it is frequently waved by the mayor. Uh the other thing I wanted to say is in the days of the old tourism board, the completed applications were available on the tourism board page. Are these completed applications to the extent that they've been received available anywhere on the city website? >> Um um we could we could put it into a PDF and post it on the student website as
  27. 32:52part of communications. >> Yeah. It's just a Right. It comes into as a CSV file from the form, but um we could I could put that into a PDF file. >> Well, thanks. >> We're looking at what we're looking at here is an export from what was submitted. >> Yes. >> The spreadsheet you have in front of you >> is an export >> from what was submitted on the form. >> Okay. >> So, what I could do is >> Why don't just post the spreadsheet? >> Yeah, I'll just post the spread. I mean, it's hard to read, but >> it is hard to read. I mean the these forms in the past they would listed something about the nature of the organization the nature of the event what facility they were providing and all that sort just so the public had some idea of what was being planned. >> So all of that so all of that is in this spreadsheet. So the old form was uh sort of a manual thing and a couple of years ago it switched to being an online portal. Uh but they fill in information about the description of the project,
  28. 33:54the purpose of the project. Uh uh why should they be funded? Um what positive outcomes and so forth. So all the things that you're talking about are actually in this spreadsheet that we're looking at. >> Yeah. >> It's all public information. So just make all this available >> the spreadsheet. Yeah. And we can >> make it into Excel rather than CSV and and maybe make it better. >> Fair enough. >> Okay. Thanks very much. >> Anything else? >> Yeah. >> No. Okay. So for Monday we're going to do I need to do I don't I'm not going to do resolution right now. We can just go with our recommendation on Monday and I can run the resol resolution for following Tuesday or do you want me to do a resolution tomorrow for Monday? >> Well, we should do the rest because this Are we okay with this? >> I'm I'm okay with what we've decided through, >> right? And we still have open questions
  29. 34:56about a couple of others that we haven't yet. >> We always give the money later on. >> Yeah. Okay. Okay. So, do a resolution based on this. >> Yeah. Last year we gave the Hudson Mile two months after in August. >> Yeah. >> Um you know also maybe the any extra funds can go back into the >> go DBW budget to clean up that >> oh there's a good thought. That's actually an excellent thought >> once in a while they happen. >> Yeah I very >> thank you. >> Well I wouldn't think it was excellent except that I have a crushing headache and I'm not thinking. >> This means it's almost over. Um I think that's it. Right. So, we'll take this information at 235 allocated and 30,000. Um, we're waiting to hear from there's two TBDs and um >> yeah, >> anything extra out of that and put back into TBW police budget. >> Yeah. >> For these events and clean up. >> All right, folks. Um, any other
  30. 36:00questions, comments? No, that's all she wrote. Thank you very much. Thanks for playing. Have a good night. Bye >> bye.
