Public Works Board, Regular Meeting

1. 0:03Uh, good evening everybody. Uh, call the public works board meeting to order. Commissioner Tyler Cresman, >> George Croner, member, >> Sydney Martin, mayor aid and ad coordinator. >> Very good. Uh, we have a couple updates tonight. Um, the approval letters for the SID credits for next year were all sent out to the residents. Um we're just waiting on any feedback from them, but all the credits were approved. Uh some of the scope for our uh upcoming work this year did change um and that just had to do with some future projects that the city already has. Um sewer tie-ins and gas tie-ins that now the sidewalks um are a part of. So now we were able to drop some of the parcels that we had and add some um some new ones in. I do have an update and can read that as well. Um, so now the uh stuff that is in the project this year is Third Street um on the west side, Union to Partition.

That's the east side. to state. >> Yep. On the east side. Uh also on fifth we have State Street to Long Alley. That's actually both sides of the street, west and east. >> State to >> Yeah, both sides. >> Uh Fifth Street, Prison Alley to Warren Street. This is the west side. Uh and last piece on Fifth is Warren to Union Street. Uh west side. Uh, sixth street. Um, upgrades are going to be State Street to Columbia Street. West side which

We're on Sixth Street still. >> Yes. >> State Street to Long Alley. >> That's the east side to Long Island. >> Yeah. And then last on Sixth Street is Rope Alley to State Street, West Side. And then we added two alternates as well. if the bids come in under bid. Uh Cherry Alley to Union. >> Uh that is the east side >> on which street? >> Um Fifth Street, I'm sorry. Yeah, that's just past Trust right there. >> Cherry two, I'm sorry. >> Union. >> Union. >> Yeah. Uh and then the seven there's a there's a stretch on the seventh block of Warren. Um that's pretty crappy. Um >> which one? It's It's on the seventh
4. 3:15block of Warren Street. It's in front of uh 711 to 7:31. Those two were alternates for the project. >> That's all. >> Yeah. The only um update other than that I have is um currently I'm working on some more letters to be sent to a few residents where their properties are butting to this this work. Um only a few of them have some trees or shrubs or something that's overhanging that uh we'd like to see the residents cut back so that doesn't cost us in the project. Um, but if it does, then you know, we'll have to add that as a change order in the project. But I'm just going to give them a heads up and try to get them to just it's not a lot, just so just some pieces that you know, maybe a limb's overhanging or some of their vegetation is growing into the sidewalk. 5. 4:19>> Ryan, uh, so since last month, we did submit the, uh, file to the county. um which I think resulted in what a little bit over $315,000 which will be which will be going into the sidewalk improvement district this year. So it's a little bit more than last year. Um but uh not a ton has changed. Some parcels that were receiving credit were no longer and some got added in. So kind of balanced out some of the other development that's happened in the city that's now brought more value into the fund. Like Kyler said, we've kind of worked with Piler, Rob, Gary, try to, you know, finesse some of the locations based on other work that the city has going on, uh, to try and maximize the value of the work. But yeah, other than that, Tyler got in on everything. And um more I guess the other thing we did do was we provided Tyler with a list of all all the flooding owners that are in the area of work. It might be beneficial to
6. 5:22provide either a letter or some correspondence to any of the owners that are along these sections. Um I think last year we tried to do something. I don't recall exactly how Justin handled it. Um, but generally speaking, whenever construction happens, the public always seems to, you know, uh, ask questions about what's going on. It's more of anformational thing that this is happening. And, um, it may be worth just throwing out a little, hey, this is in your neighborhood, just so you know. As well as if there's anyone that has materials that are on the sidewalk, like a planter box or something like that in these areas. Um, and like Tyler said, it's recommended that they move it. can't guarantee a contractor can move it safely and efficiently depending on where they're looking to put it. So, um if they have property along their frontage and there's a few planer boxes with some flowers and things like that, but be better than trying out contract. Very good. Um the one thing I believe that we kicked around is changing the
