  1. 0:04Whenever um there should be um call to order. I'm in favor of
  2. 0:16Y accepting the minutes from last month from June's minutes. And by the way, also in June's minutes, Linda, thank you very much for sending the link to City of Newberg streetscapes standard. So Linda said that as well. Thank you. Thank you.
  3. 0:33Thank you.
  4. 0:34Um so that looks pretty good actually. I mean, you should just give it a go at it and see um what we can use for our own think about the sidewalks and um
  5. 0:49And I think that's correct me if I'm wrong. Did you start chatting with that too?
  6. 0:55Yeah.
  7. 0:56Sorry. I hadn't been able to take like review the language they sent.
  8. 1:01Yeah. All that has happened is I just emailed them and then they wrote back and said they had included some info in that initial report they sent us.
  9. 1:11So I went back and looked at that and it basically like having uh proposing like having general guidelines for like new construction and that kind of thing that incorporated rails and all those sorts of things. Um they had also sent a bunch of info on what
  10. 1:35Video Kingston is doing relating to this. So they had some interesting there. Um so it seems like and like this one that you sent to try to like what you know sort of similar thing to what these other municipalities have.
  11. 1:58Yeah. So far in front of those sidewalks, what do you think the next step should be? Should we have a separate meeting? Should we call the earth law people back in? Should we What should we do?
  12. 2:14I I kind of think for the tree ordinance we might want to have like
  13. 2:19It's like a sub.
  14. 2:20Well, yeah, but I also feel like we need to like present or talk with the plan. Oh, not plan legal, right? Wasn't legal. Um, so yeah, maybe more strategic next steps there to like socialize like talk to them a bit more like or have some maybe somebody come here
  15. 2:45To talk about.
  16. 2:54Um, so all in favor of accepting the minutes. Yeah. [laughter]
  17. 2:59Yeah. We just jump right in. [laughter]
  18. 3:04Um the August meeting is going to be August 4th, the next meeting. Um I will not be here in person.
  19. 3:12I will not be here either.
  20. 3:14So what should we do then?
  21. 3:16Cuz I don't know about Michael's. Um he's having surgery. So I just don't think we're going to we're probably going to go down this morning. So,
  22. 3:25I would be here if you're here.
  23. 3:27Okay. So, what should we do? Should Are you going to be able to be here virtually or no?
  24. 3:32That's what I mean. I don't think so.
  25. 3:34I I might be, but I'm planning it by ear.
  26. 3:37By year. Um, there's someone else. What do you think, folks? Should we plan another date or should we postpone or cancel or you tell me? I mean, I could run the meeting virtually. Yeah.
  27. 3:53Yeah, it's fine.
  28. 3:54Virtual 98 was fine. Yeah.
  29. 3:57Yeah.
  30. 3:59I've done that before, right? Yeah.
  31. 4:01All right. Um All right. So, I'll do that then. We'll just do that then. No one cares.
  32. 4:07We'll reschedu.
  33. 4:09Huh?
  34. 4:09Resched or
  35. 4:10I'll just virtually.
  36. 4:11Oh, cool.
  37. 4:12Yeah. I mean, you can't make it,
  38. 4:15But
  39. 4:16I know where to find you. We'll just we'll have to we'll have to power on [laughter]
  40. 4:22Somehow.
  41. 4:24I think you'll be receiving some notes from the meeting. [laughter]
  42. 4:29Danielle will do one, two, three, five, six.
  43. 4:33Um, speaking of which, we still Okay, so membership so far, this is on me. I I I apologize. I have not been a good advent this past month. It was June. That's my excuse. Um, so I have to follow up with Michael Pear and Nathan because I don't think they have officially reselling this yet.
  44. 4:50Really?
  45. 4:51Send a letter.
  46. 4:52Um,
  47. 4:54I know
  48. 4:54It's funny.
  49. 4:56Yeah.
  50. 4:56So, but we can still volunteer and Andrew is still kind of like out there, but
  51. 5:04Yeah,
  52. 5:05He's not officially resigned.
  53. 5:07Yeah. So, and we're going to have to drag him in at least to download information from him for the street tree planting because that really has to we have to push that up to the front burner now. We'll get to that. Um, oh, I'm taking off climate smart sub community. So, we should find out now to why they told us if we get the points for this climate smart stuff.
  54. 5:29I sent them the logo and our address for whatever certification they're going to put together. So that's a good sign at least.
  55. 5:38Yeah,
  56. 5:40We should know about bronze level. Um, okay. So, arbit. So, yeah. So, we have the funds for the street tree planting. We have to do it and we're going to have to do it in the poll. So, I what I will do is connect with Andrew because he does have the list from this spring and it's like I think it's like a dozen retrieves. He's already gone through it. We And I think he's actually has already vetted the um nursery to do it. We just have to like short.
  57. 6:13We have locations for those.
  58. 6:15We have the locations and nursery.
  59. 6:18So we just have to get it done and I you know I'm drag manage it back and just for like an hour so I can do a download and see what the steps are.
  60. 6:28And we're I mean I'll just discuss it. I'll [clears throat] send an email out to everyone for August and um you know to see what's what. We just have to go back to each location and say look we're going to plant your tree on. So I I have not done this in that detail. Um you know we might have to bring in bring in Brick or Andrew or someone I hopefully it's not that difficult.
  61. 6:54Is still working with city on landscaping or she would be nice to be really nice to bring software nice maybe um light bulb exchange is still ongoing gave me all the extra light bulbs the LED light bulbs so I still have several boxes there are still LED light bulbs Uh there are some here at the city.
  62. 7:26So um some people say that I don't know if I'm going to like them and some of the feedback that's um EV car charger brands. Looks like Po the vendor for this the he's moving forward with it. He gave me a quote this week that, you know, it's within the grant money of $75,000.
  63. 7:59Um, we just realized today, I guess, that there is extra money there, too. So, if it goes over a little bit over, we'll have funding there. Um, if it goes a little bit over, and then, um, the ones behind city hall, we're still waiting. We're waiting a month and a half for them to send us a new invoice without pay sales tax. That's where that is. Um, so
  64. 8:22what's the timeline on the the other ones?
  65. 8:25Uh, the new ones, the Amra ones, 2028, as long as they're installed by 2020.
  66. 8:31Well, we just the city just got a check for 18 grand because we selected the vendor in April. So, we got 75 grand total. We got so far we got 12.5 grand. We got 18 in for the first phase of two. And then after completion, the city gets the other two,000. So, and we have until 2020 to do it.
  67. 8:55The thing that should be big question mark is um I think he told me he can do the whole thing even without national. So, we'll see.
  68. 9:06Yeah, that's what he told me.
  69. 9:09Interesting.
  70. 9:09So, we'll see. I said, but he can only do the level two. So, which is um initially we thought we could do more, but this is what we can do. Um, that's what that is. Okay, so here we go. Tree ordinance. And I'm going to wrap that in with um city sidewalks. City side, please help me.
  71. 9:27Um, where would we want to with this? Do we want to circle back with legal on audience or
  72. 9:39I feel like
  73. 9:40drag on forever. Yeah. I think we just need to have a really good solid sit down feel like
  74. 9:45and understand what their concerns.
  75. 9:48Yeah.
  76. 9:48Full all of their concerns were.
  77. 9:50Yeah.
  78. 9:55Because we had watered it down already considerably before we handed it to them to deliver something that we thought would be easily passed. So
  79. 10:04now I feel like working with Earth.
  80. 10:17Don't know if the other departments have like a line agenda that we have here on the CC. I think sometimes issues just kind of agenda.
  81. 10:28How many people are they going to
  82. 10:31maybe three or four? Um
  83. 10:37would like would even um like a walk like I I would we want to like review it with city council too like would that be helpful?
  84. 10:47I'm I'm thinking longer and say what's up what's next steps.
  85. 10:50Okay. Yeah. It would just be nice to know like what
  86. 10:53Oh, look who's here.
  87. 10:55Hello. what the friction points are so that we could address them and then see if that's
  88. 11:01well and maybe we could uh we have another meeting with them people in like September then bring them back and say look we talk to our people and we talk to maybe we even you know um bounce off city sidewalks ideas off of DBW or something and be like um you know here are our concerns regarding uh you know city ordinance and city side what can you tell us?
  89. 11:34Yeah.
  90. 11:35Yeah. Um the mayor wants to meet with me on Friday.
  91. 11:39This Friday.
  92. 11:40This Friday. So I'm going to have a meeting with just like a manager that hopefully hopefully it's not like hopefully it's just like a little update status like where the CAC is and not like I'm meeting with the principal's office. He was interested in swirls and green infrastructure. Anyway,
  93. 11:58he was interested in
  94. 11:59he has a few he Yeah. He had like a few other issues. He had like a few things like um uh well we did want to I did want to talk to about recycling about it.
  95. 12:11He had the opera energy service about the rain gardens. He said talk to him about it. So, and he also does have updates on the sewer grant and things like that.
  96. 12:24What about the open space idea by him too, just so he's kind of
  97. 12:28I'll Yeah, I'll bring it up to him. I I'll run through the agenda with them. Just be like, look, this is this is what we're all working on. I'll also say the um the song just now. Yeah.
  98. 12:42Yeah.
  99. 12:45Yeah. There's like some like this we I just be like I'll start from this agenda differently. I be like this is what this is where we're at. You know, this is little push right now.
  100. 12:54Yeah.
  101. 12:55Uh it's probably not a good idea to do this orally actually.
  102. 12:59Yeah.
  103. 13:00Yeah.
  104. 13:01Um
  105. 13:02Nathan, we were just talking about the tree ordinance. Still talking about you have [laughter] where things are?
  106. 13:13Yeah. Oh,
  107. 13:14I mean I think it's I don't know. I mean it's not nothing to it's like how to figure out a woman to make her excited about this this can be your your job.
  108. 13:28Why would one excited about it? [laughter] Why does one need to be excited about it?
  109. 13:38Um okay so [laughter] I feel like I don't know the narrow window of what happened between the previous I think you all know history right there's a prehistory or that the past um the narrow window between that and what might actually
  110. 14:07but the thing is that it's not going to make that no one's really going to be happy because there's There's going to be some people want more, some people want less.
  111. 14:15Yeah.
  112. 14:16So, but um Okay. So, the tree grant. So, uh Sam is working with on the Harry Howard trees.
  113. 14:26I think should we start doing the photo contest and she really can see. I asked if there was more money for mulch and gator bags, but I'm not gator bag. They're all
  114. 14:40They're all gator.
  115. 14:41Yeah, they're all gator. I don't know who did that.
  116. 14:45I'm sure you
  117. 14:47Yeah, there was there was an email saying, which I think is why I might be called into the principal's office, [clears throat] but
  118. 15:01they're looking better now.
  119. 15:06Yeah, the feer bags need to be on for a few years. Yeah, I don't think they're all just out there wondering.
  120. 15:18Yeah.
  121. 15:18Isn't the fire um didn't they offered to take care like it's on their I thought that was the initial agreement with the placement of them that they were actually going to maintain the trees.
  122. 15:31I don't know.
  123. 15:32I thought that was like up front so that it wouldn't fall onto DPW or to volunteers. It predates me. It's not true.
  124. 15:41Yeah.
  125. 15:42That's what I thought.
  126. 15:43Michael predates. He's been going out for years. That's right. I don't know what the stipulations were,
  127. 15:55but we still need to do a part of contest. That's where we're at. Um, climate smart communities at Columbia. I owe Sam a uh her uh document that says that we need to give her to uh we approved her call and all that.
  128. 16:16Oh, she did. It's been a while, but official.
  129. 16:20It's official, right? Excellent. And I don't think there is anything else from the county. Is there anything we should know? Okay. Okay. So, green space law. We just need to find out what green space there service. Is that what you're talking about?
  130. 16:44Open space.
  131. 16:45Open space. Sorry.
  132. 16:47The Yeah, that email. So, yeah.
  133. 16:49Right.
  134. 16:50You wanted to just like put that on Joe's.
  135. 16:54I will talk to Joe about that. Yes. I mean, yes, that's a big the mil street thing is
  136. 17:01Well, that would also reduce. So, I've been talking with DJW too with the site at the dog park about mowing.
  137. 17:08Yeah. Oh, sense. Yeah.
  138. 17:10And just generally across the city about mowing and that's definitely one site that they would love to not mow.
  139. 17:17Which side?
  140. 17:17The middle site.
  141. 17:19So, just if it does become like depending on it would just be helpful. Yeah. No, it's a good thing. Like because it's a bad one.
  142. 17:29Oh, I know it's not lower.
  143. 17:32Um I don't know why not.
  144. 17:39So,
  145. 17:40but I Yeah, I'm not sure why. Um do they have to know everything? I wonder I'm assuming here, but I wonder if it was anything with how they were prepping the site or or a potential building. I don't know. But so, but generally, we've been talking about how to like reduce their mowing, right, needs by doing like no mow lawns or depending if it's appropriate, wild flower meadows and things like that.
  146. 18:09So um it would also help redirect their time and capacity to more critical infrastructure projects and they're down as staffers. So it would just be helpful for them. So I think just overall like if you want I could write up a few sentences. I mean you saw the proposal to HDC. So, if you want to just show Joe and the mayor that um because I I have a few sentences in there about um the collaboration with DPW.
  147. 18:42I mean, right. I was saying last the cemetery is close to I don't know several hundred,000 just the cemetery.
  148. 18:52Just the cemetery.
  149. 18:53That's pretty wild.
  150. 18:54Do we know like how much mowing total it amounts to? Not just the cemetery, but all sites of residency that they're responsible for because it could be a really like um driver for for doing this.
  151. 19:09The cemetery is also going to be whacking around the stones. It's too terrible.
  152. 19:13Yeah, that's a lot.
  153. 19:15I wonder um Yeah, I wonder at least in like the older parts of the cemetery like if you do clover or something. Um but I think probably in the more active spots at least for the cemetery. I don't know if they people would be open to it. Um, but we could talk about this.
  154. 19:33Yeah, there are certainly other sites. Is there grant money for that?
  155. 19:37Um, it's it doesn't take a lot.
  156. 19:43Okay.
  157. 19:43Um, like the seeds are expensive like but other than that, we just mow it down to the soil like an inch like an inch and then you disperse seeds in like November. It's really It's usually really low labor. Oh, it depends on how compacted the site is. Um, we could always do a pilot site, like a small test site, and see how it goes.
  158. 20:08Yes. So, could we buy the idea? Yeah. Can we work with you?
  159. 20:12Yeah. But I I don't I we haven't talked about cemetery, but I did ask Frank what other sites does he not like about building. [laughter] Yeah. And he hasn't gotten me that list. But I think doing this pilot site um HD HDC app it proves that could be a good pilot to get everybody comfortable with the idea see what the result and then expanded to other sites and it's like two different treatments one is a no so it's like a native grass with like um common blue violet like that runs underneath and the grass is like maybe around 4 to 8 in tall so it's pretty low um so but it's it's taller than you know just a m grass but it won't get longer than that. Um and then there's another site that would be an actual meadow like wildflower meadow with like deer deterrent um native wild flowers from like sand and texture.
  160. 21:10Um so that's currently being mowed.
  161. 21:13It's currently being mowed. Yeah. And it's like just under just over a half acre site. So it's like a test a testing we could do.
  162. 21:24Oh great.
  163. 21:25Yeah. So the issue approves it.
  164. 21:29Oh yes. Uh you talked to your uh branch about similar stuff at
  165. 21:39uh no. What's going
  166. 21:40I know you've been talking to you as well about going there and so
  167. 21:45I mean I run into him enough. I'll I'll bring it up with him the next time I see him.
  168. 21:49So I don't know. I just this is Yeah. Yeah. Um I have a conversation.
  169. 21:54Okay. Yeah. It should probably really fun time with him to combine brains. Okay. Yeah.
  170. 22:03And um I don't know if you've met HK Lee from Eon Woods. She um she's volunteered at Spiral House. Um but she started an organs a nonprofit that's focused on natural burials. So this is not our cemetery, but she
  171. 22:18for dear. Oh, natural burial.
  172. 22:20Natural burials for for barriers.
  173. 22:23No, [laughter] I was like for deer. But she's done a lot of research on like how to maintain sort of cemeteries that are actual natural burials, grounds essentially. And so I'm sure she has through some research on like appropriate
  174. 22:37Oh yeah. Do you want to connect us over at
  175. 22:40Yeah, sure.
  176. 22:42Yeah. the HC brand project. Is that done?
  177. 22:50Uh, I mean, is anything ever done? No, I'm kidding. The money you spent, [laughter] but I'm still watering my
  178. 22:59No, I'm done.
  179. 22:59You're done.
  180. 23:00I Yeah, I cashed the the last check.
  181. 23:04Okay.
  182. 23:04If Sam finds her receipt, she has like I think it's like around $50, but she probably won't. and DPW, how are they? They happy.
  183. 23:18Um, yeah, we're on good terms. We chitchat. I have to switch out my we I whack there for them. I weed whack and I I I water all the plants and um so I have to go and replace the battery. They loaned me a weed whack.
  184. 23:37Elijah.
  185. 23:38Yeah.
  186. 23:38Yeah. That I can never.
  187. 23:40Yeah. They were like, "We have a lot of these. You don't know why [laughter] they were like they're down at the cemetery. [laughter] So, I'm I'm $15,000 worth of electric lawn equipment.
  188. 23:56Well, I'm using one.
  189. 23:57Great. That's what it's for.
  190. 23:58And um I they're not powerful enough for the jobs that they are, which and the batteries do really like I'll do the whole site and the battery will be dead. Oh, and it's not even that big of a site. Yeah, for the work that they have to do, I could totally see them not wanting to use them.
  191. 24:16They don't want to use it.
  192. 24:17Yeah, it's tough. Um, but yeah, they good [clears throat] things are happening hopefully.
  193. 24:26Great. Good to hear.
  194. 24:28Yeah.
  195. 24:29All right, great. Um, gas stove study. Heard any updates on that?
  196. 24:36Okay. I don't think it needs to be on our agenda. They tried to introduce it as legislation. Is that right?
  197. 24:43Yeah. And we were gonna Yeah, they I mean they introduced it at the state.
  198. 24:46They did introduce it or we didn't write a letter.
  199. 24:51We didn't write a letter. Um but it was also I think there was it was it was unclear whether how how effective that might be coming from it. The it sound like the town like the city didn't want to advocate for a state law. this sets like I got but the kind says
  200. 25:16but we I mean but we could write a letter too I don't know I haven't heard actually I don't think so
  201. 25:22I don't know I mean it would have to go through the council council to okay they may or may not they didn't see with it to be yeah I don't know the liability What's that?
  202. 25:39Is it even alive anymore?
  203. 25:41I don't know.
  204. 25:43I don't have any advocacy around it. So, I'm assuming maybe not.
  205. 25:48I would be I would be advocating for anyway. Um, what else is there? Oh, the list of street trees. I think did I send you?
  206. 26:03Yes, you sent.
  207. 26:04Right. Do we have two list of Yes, we have. to look into. Okay, fine.
  208. 26:08But yeah, I haven't had the time. Um,
  209. 26:12I think that we just have to update the link. If we have a native tree only list, then we just have to update the hyperlink on our Google form.
  210. 26:29Okay.
  211. 26:30I believe. [clears throat]
  212. 26:31Okay.
  213. 26:32Um, I think that
  214. 26:35you have two lists. That's a problem. I yeah I I I wasn't able to find the native list the native owner list. Um but you may have emailed it to me and I just haven't looked yet.
  215. 26:46All right.
  216. 26:47But I think it's just the Google form and then I think the website like could happen later.
  217. 26:53I feel like people would come across the Google form.
  218. 26:56Google Yeah. Like one submitted the other one.
  219. 26:59But yeah, that's why we have that one list with the g or something else on it.
  220. 27:04Yeah. Yeah.
  221. 27:05Yeah. But otherwise, yeah, it's not that urgent. Um, fine. The other two, she's not talking with the mayor. Oh, so Nora, who used to be here on the CIC, I bumped into who is now working for Michelle Pinch's office, right? Everyone's been nice. Um, offered to come and leaz with us, the CAC, spoke about any civility related issues or whatnot.
  222. 27:32Right.
  223. 27:32Yeah.
  224. 27:32Just have like a conversation. So maybe sometime in the fall we can invite like a September meeting. I just let them know.
  225. 27:43Would Michelle come or just
  226. 27:45I don't know. Good question. Um maybe have a
  227. 27:51Michelle might want to invite people to well Joe just if she's
  228. 27:59maybe have initial reading with the the representative that should be what we could actually talk about and then we might show next.
  229. 28:08Yeah.
  230. 28:09Yeah. like like a precursor and then recycling. I know you had spoken to about recycling. So where are we recycling? Um I think it was like the last time I read in the emails but it was um getting a city city council basically I think he executive order
  231. 28:33look into it and then get back to there wasn't any like okay do this as the next step
  232. 28:41and then he wanted to like have a conversation
  233. 28:44you want add it to your agenda for Friday because I think he could write an executive order to just start using like recycling things in the offices.
  234. 28:52Yeah, like in this building
  235. 28:56just like small [laughter] you know maybe one day two will just show up.
  236. 29:04Yeah, [laughter]
  237. 29:06but for us to get you know um uh climate smart points there needs to be a formal.
  238. 29:16Got it. 12. Sorry, that's why that's the email thread that I was saying like an executive order or like I don't can't remember if it was like I think he has to sign something. So, I don't think a memo maybe a memo's okay, but
  239. 29:29yeah.
  240. 29:29Got it.
  241. 29:31I can re flag it.
  242. 29:33All right. I can go back.
  243. 29:35I'll just I'll just poke in on Friday. We might need something official.
  244. 29:39We could draft something.
  245. 29:40We'll just draft it that says blah blah recycling bins blah blah. Yeah,
  246. 29:47but like even if you got the B has to pick it up. Yeah.
  247. 29:51Yeah. There has to be service.
  248. 29:55I mean most some of us pick up the garbage.
  249. 29:59Yeah. Do they have kept up?
  250. 30:08They should. In this day and age, it seems like it's illegal not to [laughter]
  251. 30:29Okay. Um, that's all I got. But if we have recycling, it might throw off the whole blue bag situation because blue bags indicate recycling in most other places. They indicate trash. So it really throw people into a tizzy.
  252. 30:44Yeah.
  253. 30:47Yes. Nathan.
  254. 30:48Yes.
  255. 30:49My capacity as planning board.
  256. 30:52Oh, sidewalk.
  257. 30:53Oh, please uh sidewalk and open space. The question.
  258. 30:59Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. maybe question.
  259. 31:02So, there are like open space conservation grants through the state. Um, I believe they're annual. They happen, I think, in the winter, like where you can apply for it. Um, and I can't remember what was that email about. Was it the one that we were just chatting about the street or
  260. 31:23the open space grant?
  261. 31:24Was it the open space grant or was it a Oh, it was 30 by 30, right? So the state has a 30 by30 so conserve 30% of land by 2030. Um so Mil Street if it doesn't go into development could become a site that's protected and then we can add that acreage to the state's overall target of restor of protecting 30%.
  262. 31:53Court case right now.
  263. 31:55Yeah. So
  264. 31:57the plan has no current.
  265. 31:59Yeah. But so that's an idea if you want to give them that heads up that that's what we're thinking about. Um and it is um pretty sure it is a wetland
  266. 32:14board works if that was a thing board to consider if there was a future review of mil street. Oh, but it comes back and sort of fighting more because of the poor review where you have to the pans would have to be uh the council would have to enact it if wanted uh to adopt a 30 by30 plan for the city and then we could consider that we can only consider things that the council has enacted.
  267. 32:43Okay.
  268. 32:43Uh as as law basically in in planes.
  269. 32:47Okay. So maybe we could just do that in the meantime.
  270. 32:51Um, and it has to also it would be do in the meantime because it has to be enacted before language starts doing the project. So there's like a
  271. 33:00do you know when the planning board will review that project?
  272. 33:03Uh, no because it's currently under lation. So it depends like there's two outcomes, right? like it will either the form will say the planning board previously acted properly or it will get kicked back to us. Um because not act properly essentially [clears throat] um you probably know more about this process than I do. Yeah.
  273. 33:30Well, why does the city have to adopt the 30 by30? Why can't we just participate in the state program? Because it's law. Uh
  274. 33:39the state it the state passed the legislation for it.
  275. 33:43I'm not the answer to this question.
  276. 33:46Do we know
  277. 33:47in general we can only consider things that are law if not like
  278. 33:52what about state law?
  279. 33:55Think so. But I don't know
  280. 33:57because it is a state law. So maybe we don't have to pass anything. Uh this gonna be a I can ask the funding board.
  281. 34:08Oh yeah, if you can
  282. 34:10that's okay.
  283. 34:10Yeah.
  284. 34:10Yeah,
  285. 34:11I think it's okay.
  286. 34:12Thank you.
  287. 34:13I can at least ask you. [laughter] Um
  288. 34:23well yeah the 30 by 30 is state law.
  289. 34:25Okay.
  290. 34:25Yeah. um I do that um and report back. And then the other thing that I promised to do is tell you all that there's a public hearing for the housing housing authority project on the 21st. I cannot if there's anything you all would like to comment on that. Um we can't like have any problems in any way other than asking you to come and say public does but that
  291. 34:57what time and where
  292. 34:59uh 6 p.m. on the 21st I believe is
  293. 35:055. Um, and I don't know of any particular environmental concerns, but all the projects are all set.
  294. 35:17Okay.
  295. 35:19Um, and then the other thing was the um city sidewalks. So, we're working with Earth Law to we're working with Earth Law
  296. 35:30to figure out ways um to integrate more like nature-based solutions into sidewalk design
  297. 35:38and having at least some like level of guidance or an actual policy.
  298. 35:44Um so, that's as far as I think we are though. Um my understanding here would be that in the code you get it added into the
  299. 35:54Yeah, that's we can like get more.
  300. 35:57Okay.
  301. 36:00Whatever. I think there's basically no requirements beyond ADA and whatever,
  302. 36:10right?
  303. 36:10Yeah.
  304. 36:10Yeah. And that limit is the height limit or something or vegetation on sidewalks to keep people to maintain there.
  305. 36:26And also, yeah, no, no, no toxic noxious plants like poison ivy, which several places are in violation of across the city right now.
  306. 36:37I can point them out.
  307. 36:39There's a church. Alleyways are not sidewalks.
  308. 36:42Oh, that's true. Okay.
  309. 36:43Steering Glenwood Boulevard. There are many places that are [laughter] in the in the walkway.
  310. 36:49That's amazing.
  311. 36:50So, in terms of the sidewalks, do you have any suggestions or anything in terms of like
  312. 36:58something more speaking as a citizen neighbor? Uh, I mean, I think would be great to do. I don't I think it's like a ton of stuff. There's the I think it's like some this like the bio swell um stuff on the top of the Union that I think is like a demonstration project and I don't even know.
  313. 37:22Are those the the trees that are sunken down? Yeah.
  314. 37:26Yeah. I don't know if that's a good idea or a bad idea. That seems like another like a worth considering. I heard Brit Brit was uh I think involved maybe early on but also said that that was like it was not a successful design.
  315. 37:40Those ones in particular I'm not sure why but Brit
  316. 37:43was very question about it too when I was trying to find the documentation for was it I I kind of think that something wasn't connected
  317. 37:52that maybe I didn't imagine a like number of sweet trees per uh feet of sidewalk.
  318. 37:59Yeah. that sort of a thing we can bring in. Um I can imagine uh I don't know I don't know where where the other things I one bag people are like smarter than me
  319. 38:17right
  320. 38:23there's a lot
  321. 38:24referencing the tree canopy below tree canopy in Hudson they 4% which is well below most out of this.
  322. 38:32Well, that's just for like
  323. 38:35if we're trying to do more like actual flood water mitigation,
  324. 38:39then there's a lot that could be done, but it's like you need a bit wider sidewalks.
  325. 38:45I I would urge on the storm water stuff. I think that's actually biggest environmental as a city.
  326. 38:54Yeah.
  327. 38:54Is the stack overflow.
  328. 38:58Yeah. um from Snow and the official like TPW projects and there's all that it's like a 50 year timeline really.
  329. 39:09Yeah.
  330. 39:09Which is not unreasonable given the scale of the
  331. 39:11Yeah.
  332. 39:12thing but um
  333. 39:16Yeah. So
  334. 39:26is that part of your update? But Joe is the sewer update was just status update on that or is that
  335. 39:36I'll talk to him.
  336. 39:38If you want to um share your agenda, we probably fill it in with some stuff too. When you meet with Joe, if you want to share your agenda, we probably fill it in with some stuff, too. I think that's helpful.
  337. 39:50That's helpful.
  338. 39:53Wait, I'm sorry. I can't hear you.
  339. 39:55The agenda that you're gonna have with Joe for Friday, if you want to circulate it, we could probably fill some details in if you want him to be aware of some things.
  340. 40:04I mean, it's just the same agenda.
  341. 40:07Yeah,
  342. 40:08it's that piece of paper right there.
  343. 40:10Yeah. I mean,
  344. 40:12but I guess for like the 30 by30 stuff and any other details that might not be in there yet.
  345. 40:23I could just shoot you
  346. 40:26and you can bring it up.
  347. 40:28I'll bring it up. [laughter]
  348. 40:30Not to pressure you.
  349. 40:32And then I mean, you know, we could bring them into a CAC meeting next month, too.
  350. 40:36Yeah.
  351. 40:37Yeah. Yeah.
  352. 40:38Yeah. Sure.
  353. 40:39Yeah. We're just driving till meeting next month.
  354. 40:43Yeah, I'm seeing this on Friday.
  355. 40:48Yeah,
  356. 40:50sounds good.
  357. 41:02Yes. Can you explain that 30 by 30 is a state law? And then how how much space would have to Hudson have to, you know, set aside or conserve [clears throat] or how does it work?
  358. 41:17It's um it's statewide. So it's not on every town to conserve 30% of their land. It's the entire state. Um and other states are doing it as well. So it's 30% land and water, I believe. And I just can't remember if New York, some states said 30% land and 30% water. And I don't know if they did an and or or but it's yeah, it's a conservation target to hit by 2030. Um and yeah,
  359. 41:51but it doesn't have like a municipal mandate.
  360. 41:53No, there's no I don't believe so. No. No. Um there's a lot of conservation in the state. There's a lot of
  361. 42:01Yeah. And all of that all of that goes towards it, but it's still not 30%. So, they're they're still looking for other spaces and we could if we find a space we can voluntarily enter it in is what is how I interpreted it. Yeah.
  362. 42:21Okay. Thank you.
  363. 42:23Yep.
  364. 42:26All right. Are there any sentence to to do so? I don't know.
  365. 42:32I don't know if there's a Yeah, I don't know if it's like tax and like a tax like
  366. 42:37right offer. I'm sure
  367. 42:40I don't know.
  368. 42:43Yeah, I haven't looked on that side of
  369. 42:45Yes.
  370. 42:47Yeah. Yeah, I think that they have a whole website now for the Anything else? Motion to motion all
